How Grants Are Disbursed

The Foundation Board requests grant proposals, which are submitted by department chairs representing academic departments and faculty representing student activities. Grant proposals are reviewed by the Foundation Donation Committee and administration.  Funding recommendations are then presented to the Foundation board of directors for approval. Each grant selection is based on the level to which it will enrich and enhance the educational experience and the number of students impacted.

Below is a list of items that have been awarded through the years with money raised by the Foundation:

District-Wide Donations

Art

Athletics

Aquatics

Because of your support,

the new standing desk has become a flexible meeting and presentation space where students can collaborate with teachers and even showcase their projects. The exercise bike desks have been a hit too, giving students a chance to move while they read, research, or wait to print, helping boost both focus and energy throughout the day.

And there’s more to come! Podcast equipment is being set up to give students a creative outlet to produce and share their own content.

These spaces are helping create a more active, engaging learning environment and it’s all possible thanks to our Foundation community. Thank you for supporting innovative ideas that keep our students moving, creating, and thriving!”

We love moments like this when a grant is unpacked and immediately put to work. Thanks to the generous support of the LW210 Foundation, Lincoln-Way Central science classrooms are now equipped with new electronic microscopes, opening the door to deeper inquiry and hands-on discovery.

Pictured here are Mrs. Malito and Mrs. Taylor, Anatomy teachers who couldn’t wait to dive in, literally exploring how familiar lessons look entirely different through these new scopes. In just one lunch period, teachers were already seeing how this technology will transform learning for Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and even Forensic Science classes.

With microscopes now distributed across classrooms and shared among departments, students will benefit from clearer visualization, richer discussions, and more meaningful scientific exploration. This is the power of investing in classroom-ready tools and the impact is already being felt.

Thank you for helping elevate learning and spark curiosity across our schools. We can’t wait to share photos of students in action next!”
